Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Why should I sell my photos through worldonpaper.com?
We work hard to drive traffic to the site, and expose your photos to more potential buyers.Q: With enough time, can't I set up my own site, and a shopping system?
Yes, however instead of spending countless hours on setting up your site, learning about building an integrated shopping system, advertising, etc, we have already done it for you. We save your time, so instead of spending time trying to sell your photography, you will spend it shooting.Q: Why do I have to pay a commission fee on every sale?
There are several types of expenses associated with maintaining this site, advertising, and time to produce your photos, and mat them.Q: Are my high resolution images safe from hackers, if I use your service?
Yes, none of the hi-res images are stored on the internet. All images used to make prints are stored securely on DVD's in archival containers.Q: What is a minimum size of a digital file that will be accepted by WorldonPaper.com?
Currently, we do not accept anything less than a 6 mega pixel file. We have to make sure that an image has enough detail to produce a high quality print at sizes up to 30" x 30".Q: Will my image still be acceptable if I crop it first, and then resample it to a higher resolution to meet the 6MP requirement?
True Optical resolution is lost when images are cropped. Depending upon the resolution of the original image we will accept a cropped version, if it still has at least 6 Mega Pixels of the original resolution. In other words, the image should still contain enough resolution to print an 8" x 10" print at 300 Dots Per Inch. We CANNOT accept images which have been resampled to increase their size. We have to make sure that an image has enough detail to produce a high quality print at sizes up to 30" x 30".Q: If I am shooting film, how will I submit the photos to WorldonPaper.com?
We will request that you mail the film into us. We will handle your negatives/slides with respect, and extreme care. Once the photos have been scanned, we will securely pack and return the film to you. If you have access to a professional scanner able to scan your negatives or slides, we will accept the scans, as long as they meet our resolution requirements.Q: Why do I sign a contract and does it protect my rights to my photos?
The contract is for your protection. It specifically identifies what we can, and cannot do with your photos. If we ever do anything that the contract does not allow, you can hold us responsible.Q: What if I wanted to see a copy of the contract?
The contract is available for download from our site. Simply click here to download it.Q: Once a contract has been signed, will all my photos be accepted for sale?
We will still review each photo to make sure that subject matter is acceptable, and that the photo is good enough to make it available for sale. If the photo(s) are not acceptable, you will be notified.Q: Once the contract is signed, will UDTI still review images before adding them to the gallery?
Unfortunately, even when you are already signed, we still have to make sure that subject matter is acceptable and the quality of the photos still has to meet our standards.Q: Why do you feel you are better than other companies selling photography online?
Unlike others, we are going to keep improving ourselves for as long as we are in business. We are going to bring interactive features to our site that others do not have. We are going to run detailed analysis on what things keep people coming back, and what keeps them longer, once they do come.
